Meditation is a powerful tool for spiritual awareness and development and brings peace and centredness into our lives. Daily meditation helps to balance us and bring our minds into greater clarity and focus which spills over into our everyday life. A Meditation Group can help to guide and support us. Yoga and Buddhist meditations amongst other paths, also meditation CDs, can help to raise our consciousness. From the maelstrom of our mind when we begin, gradually we move to stillness and being in the Now. Our Light increases. The final goal of Meditation is full Enlightenment or Union with the Divine.
Benefits of Meditation
The deep peace coming from a good meditation session is a blessing in itself. In our rackety world, full of distractions, we lose sight of one of our deepest needs: to replenish ourselves. Sleep alone does not digest fully, nor do we learn from, all our experiences.
By going deeply into ourselves, we slowly absorb our outer world, make it our own and discard all unwanted feelings and energies.
The next step is to discipline our wayward mind. We learn to bring our consciousness back, either to the object we are meditating on or looking at. We may say our mantra, or elect to still our thoughts. This is not a stern discipline, but a gentle yet firm bringing back to awareness, as you would with a little child who is straying.
Meditation strengthens general concentration and awareness, helping us to be more effective in our outer life.
As we take our awareness further into ourselves, we find that our intuition, gut feeling, inner knowing increase.
Our higher faculties begin to awaken.
Preparing to Meditate
At the start of the session, sit comfortrably cross-legged or on an upright chair. This is to ensure that you do not fall asleep. Take a few deep breaths and settle your body.
What is it you wish to achieve in this meditation? Perhaps you have feelings that you wish to clear, maybe you wish to understand a patterning that you have, or perhaps you want to sink into non-thought.
Open your mind to receiving from Source, your guides and / or higher levels of yourself. Ask them to guide and protect you and to help you understand what you need to know or experience. You may be aware of feelings that you may not wish to have. Allow yourself to acknowledge these feelings and move on. Your mind may stray. Bring your mind back, gently but firmly, to your meditation. Ask your guides, God or whoever you normally tune in to, to heal your feelings and attitudes, your limitations and resistances.
There are many classic ways to meditate. You may choose to say a mantra out loud or silently within. You may observe your breath. You may observe your mind.
You may like to try the meditations in the blog or the free Newsletters. Each edition has a separeate meditation.
Advanced Meditation
As your meditation progresses, you will be able to carry more Light. This spills over into the people and places around you, raising their Light and helping to heal them. Your vibrations will start to be felt; people will want your presence. Your ability to sense higher dimensions may increase.
Deep in the centre of your being is the connection to your own soul and to Source. As you learn to raise your consciousness, new and exciting discoveries are made. Your monad, or Higher Self, begins to take a more active role in your development, higher levels of you begin to connect more consciously. As your Light level increases, chakras vibrate to higher levels and your aura changes, the colours become clearer.
Eventually your mind becomes stiller and stiller as you let go of fear, attachment and limitations.
Final Stages
You begin to soar beyond consciousness….. into pure Awareness, into Eternal Being.
You know that you are One without beginning or end…
